How beautiful is it to have creative artists from all over the world meeting on the land of Palestine to celebrate a theater demonstration that establishes the cultural life that we desperately need to consolidate and develop, so it can become part of our daily details, and how beautiful it is to intensify the Palestinian, Arab, and international efforts to achieve this, especially in such atmosphere of political uncertainty that doesn’t give us any of our legitimate rights having control over our natural capabilities, or our geographic boundaries.
\r\nWe have been - and over the past six months - in an ongoing struggle with the theatrical shows schedule, and with acquiring entry permits to Palestine, for our Arab colleagues and with obtaining the necessary funds to host the teams and guests, and the rest of the other necessary expenses, but we decided to stand - forcefully - in front of all the obstacles and the political, economic and social circumstances to achieve this festival.
\r\nAnd here we are today, standing before you to introduce this modest effort "Almanara Theater Days International Festival” in its third session, as our contribution in the process of giving the Palestinian culture a push forward, and in keeping it glowing along the way.
\r\nFinally, we would like thank and appreciate the role of everyone involved in the completion of this theatrical event, headed by, the Prime Minister Dr. Salam Fayyad, for the continuous support he shows to us, and for sponsoring this session of Theater Days, in addition to the distinguished cultural code of honor he declared on the Palestinian culture day and from the rostrum of our immortal poet Mahmoud Darwish.

The play "Houwa" tells the story of characters named “The Wombish (Womb People)", who are living in the womb of the earth, and waiting for the arrival of "Ilan", the spokesman of "He", to take them out "of the darkness to the light." However, "Ilan" comes to assure them that the outside world is chaotic and scattered, and that their lives where they are is the best and most comfortable for them.
They puff of exhaustion in their search for a way to find the key and the door leading to the outside world, some of them thought that climbing the ladder can help them out, some suggested passing in front of the TV light so that they forget what they had in their minds, and some suggested practicing some memorizing processes that might help them understand what had happened to them.
The play "He" is a troubling game that uses words, images and marginal things that reflect the inability of the human being to get rid of the voluntary slavery and surrendering to the reality.

The play events happen in a public transport station, where a young artist is waiting for the bus to go to a debate that he needs to pass, so he can get a profession card which allows him to pursue the career of revitalization and practice of magic.
\r\n"Mister M’s” waiting time gets longer and longer, so his memories take him back to the days of boyhood when he used to roam with his father to perform magic shows and games that used to seem simple, but were fascinating the viewers and gained their relish.
\r\n "Mr. M" persisted on this profession and sought to develop in it through his idea of the completion of a comprehensive show through which he aspires to achieve that profession card, which would open the doors of touristic spaces for him, to work and make a better future.
Through the concerns of this artist, Tawfiq Ala’aib was able to point at several negative aspects experienced by the Tunisian citizen in his daily life, particularly his/her tireless efforts to gain time, which is often lost while waiting for the bus.

This play is a preparation of two prose texts written by the great German dramatist and poet Bertolt Brecht, from his books "Dialogues of the exiled" and "Mr. Koiner Stories," which he wrote during his exile from his native homeland, Germany to the Scandinavian States, that he kept moving between during the Second World War. Through these stories, Brecht was stripping and mocking fascism, through a dialogue of two German refugees who meet in a restaurant in a train station in Finland. Bricht aspired to create an enlightening theater, and he defended the love of justice and fought injustice and war in his theater, in a way that made him, nearly sixty years after his death, the most famous international author, whose plays are being shown in different parts of the world.
During his preparation and development of Bricht’s texts for theater, director Sameh Hijazi, worked on making the text suitable for the contemporary Palestinian reality, turning the texts, after the path of translation and dismantling and in-depth workshops with actors, into a fragmented Palestinian story, with no place nor time. The story of a meeting between a Palestinian educated aristocrat woman and a Palestinian wretch man who is full of vile tales and experiences. The two communicate and talk until their stories and meditations turn into images moving between their reality and imagination. Stories that make each viewer feel that he/she had experienced or encountered, one day. Their controversial discussion about their different terminology turns into a trip to various places in their homeland, which each of them is exiled within.

In an era when technology and the internet became the most popular means of communication, especially among thee young people. The four characters of the play take us through a journey searching for their personal, social, and national identity by sharing their own personal stories, experiences and dreams.
The use of the internet, the issues that happen in chat rooms and the difficulties they face daily in their lives and things that young people share.
“ I have a Dream” use puppets, shadow theater, video projection, variety of music in addition to acting to communicate with the young generation.
The text of the play is the result of the improvisation of the young actors and the tam of the play based on their personal experience.
The play was based on a research that Al Harah Theater conducted in Palestine about issues that the young people face in discovering their identity and their reason for using the internet.

Khalid Majdalawi is in his fifties, he’s single and lonely, and has been a professor of history and civics for 25 years.
His life belongs to the books, not to himself or his feelings, and he prefers to quote others, rather than reflecting his own view of life.
Mr. Khalid is loyal to the book and the curriculum established by the Ministry of Education. He teaches his pupils about the Zionist movement and the history of the Jews, but in one of the days, he says something that was not stated in the curriculum, so he gets fired from his job, and his dreams of becoming the school’s principle, go with the wind.
In the year of 2000, Mr. Khalid meets, in his empty home, and for the first time, his history and feelings, and then meets his dead mother and father , and also meets the man working for the intelligence, and his girlfriend Manal, whom he’d lost because of his silence and fear.
The play is about the story of the individual and collective Palestinian persons of this country, within the borders of 1948.
*This play won the best actor and best play award at the Msraheed Festival, 2009 in Acre.

The Play is about a family that lost their father in a car crash, and found later that this father was living an emotional gap, which had prompted him to engage in a love affair that lead him to his death, leaving his broken family behind. Suddenly, a stranger appears in the village, a money-changer with which the mother had a love affair before her marriage, and the reason of his appearance is a loan he granted to the father before his death, and at the same time, he tries to regain the love of the old days. During the events the father appears as a ghost, especially before the eldest son, and tries to incite him against his mother and the money changer, as if what happened was a conspiracy between the two of them, and on the other hand, we see the ghost with his youngest daughter as a man who regrets what he’d committed. All that burden is bore by the widow, who suffers from her children and from the remnants of her husband and the social pressures, until the events of the play ends with the truth being revealed to the eldest son, and by his being fair to himself and his mother at the same time, and by letting go the ghost of the father, who was the reason of that insomnia the sun had suffered from for a long time.

In the year of 2000, Mr. Khalid meets, in his empty home, and for the first time, his history and feelings, and then meets his dead mother and father , and also meets the man working for the intelligence, and his girlfriend Manal, whom he’d lost because of his silence and fear.
The play is about the story of the individual and collective Palestinian persons of this country, within the borders of 1948.
*This play won the best actor and best play award at the Msraheed Festival, 2009 in Acre.

The Play is about a family that lost their father in a car crash, and found later that this father was living an emotional gap, which had prompted him to engage in a love affair that lead him to his death, leaving his broken family behind. Suddenly, a stranger appears in the village, a money-changer with which the mother had a love affair before her marriage, and the reason of his appearance is a loan he granted to the father before his death, and at the same time, he tries to regain the love of the old days. During the events the father appears as a ghost, especially before the eldest son, and tries to incite him against his mother and the money changer, as if what happened was a conspiracy between the two of them, and on the other hand, we see the ghost with his youngest daughter as a man who regrets what he’d committed. All that burden is bore by the widow, who suffers from her children and from the remnants of her husband and the social pressures, until the events of the play ends with the truth being revealed to the eldest son, and by his being fair to himself and his mother at the same time, and by letting go the ghost of the father, who was the reason of that insomnia the sun had suffered from for a long time.

The play events happen in a public transport station, where a young artist is waiting for the bus to go to a debate that he needs to pass, so he can get a profession card which allows him to pursue the career of revitalization and practice of magic.
\r\n"Mister M’s” waiting time gets longer and longer, so his memories take him back to the days of boyhood when he used to roam with his father to perform magic shows and games that used to seem simple, but were fascinating the viewers and gained their relish.
\r\n "Mr. M" persisted on this profession and sought to develop in it through his idea of the completion of a comprehensive show through which he aspires to achieve that profession card, which would open the doors of touristic spaces for him, to work and make a better future.
Through the concerns of this artist, Tawfiq Ala’aib was able to point at several negative aspects experienced by the Tunisian citizen in his daily life, particularly his/her tireless efforts to gain time, which is often lost while waiting for the bus.

The play "Houwa" tells the story of characters named “The Wombish (Womb People)", who are living in the womb of the earth, and waiting for the arrival of "Ilan", the spokesman of "He", to take them out "of the darkness to the light." However, "Ilan" comes to assure them that the outside world is chaotic and scattered, and that their lives where they are is the best and most comfortable for them.
They puff of exhaustion in their search for a way to find the key and the door leading to the outside world, some of them thought that climbing the ladder can help them out, some suggested passing in front of the TV light so that they forget what they had in their minds, and some suggested practicing some memorizing processes that might help them understand what had happened to them.
The play "He" is a troubling game that uses words, images and marginal things that reflect the inability of the human being to get rid of the voluntary slavery and surrendering to the reality.
